In our ongoing mission to improve patient care and hospital efficiency, Charter Medical Centre Hospital is excited to announce the implementation of a new Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System. This digital upgrade marks a major milestone in our commitment to delivering faster, more coordinated, and data-driven healthcare to our patients in Bulawayo.

The EMR system allows our medical professionals to access patient records securely and instantly, reducing paperwork and administrative delays. Now, test results, diagnoses, treatment histories, and prescriptions are all available at the click of a button—enabling quicker decision-making and more accurate treatment across all departments, including Emergency, Maternity, Radiology, and General Practice.

“This is more than a technology shift—it’s a shift toward patient-centred precision,” said Sister Lucy, Head of Nursing. “It streamlines the entire care journey, making it safer and more personal.”

The rollout includes:

For patients, this means less waiting, fewer repeated forms, and better continuity of care, especially for chronic conditions or follow-ups. It also enhances communication between your GP and specialists within the hospital—ensuring that your care plan is always up-to-date and personalized.

This new system is live as of May 2025 and has already received excellent feedback from both staff and patients.
